Of all these, Path of Exile is my favorite just because of how much there is to do. Last time I played, I spent about a month in the game. I usually play each League for some amount of time. In fact, you can respec nearly everything about your character (even deleveling if you chose to do so). Respec points are given for free and you can always buy more. Builds are extremely diverse and there are so many skills that you're sure to find a skill that feels good for you. But, gear is tradable and each league has a thriving economy. In fact, most people don't ever reach the end game bosses because they are extremely difficult. It requires some out of game searching to find a playable build that will get you to the end game. Path of Exile is very daunting to get into, but is very rewarding. On a plain vanilla server, I wouldn't even consider going back. Last time I played Diablo, I spent maybe 2 months on it with some friends on a private server that had increased drop rates. Just know that, if you don't select the right build, you will not be able to solo Hell difficulty. If you've never played it, I'd recommend it. It's an old game and feels dated in a lot of ways. To be honest, there isn't much of an end game, either (people will argue with me, but, compared to POE, Diablo 2's end game is tiny and specific).

Some skills just aren't good enough to use. You get three respecs per character for free, then you need to trade for respec items. It's nearly impossible to target farm anything, but you can trade items. I will, however, seriously consider going back to it next season.ĭiablo 2 is unforgiving. Last time I played Diablo 3, I played for 2 weeks until I finished my Season Conquest and wrapped it up. All these make for an very appealing game to play, but not a lot of incentive to stay after you get one or two builds online. It's very easy to target farm for what you want/need. Drops are catered to your class and are given freely. You can respec whenever you want with virtually no penalty. To be clear, I have maybe 1000 hours in Diablo 3 since release 2100+ hours in Path of Exile and, have been playing Diablo 2 since it's release in 2000 (literally spent entire summers doing Meph and Baal runs all night).ĭiablo 3 is very casual friendly. This is a bit in-depth and is my personal opinion.
